BLURB
A prophecy of death, a power unparalleled, and a fate she can’t defy.
There is an age-old prophecy that foretells of a girl born from death itself. Devlin Raben is that girl, a witch born with death trailing her shadow. She has lived her entire life in the dark, feared by those outside the witch community as an omen meant to bring the world to its knees. She has always been a prisoner to fate and a prophecy she never chose to be part of. Now, she is hiding in plain sight, afraid of her power and the war she is destined to start. But can she truly defy fate when love and her freedom are also at stake?
*Not a YA novel. This is D.J. Hawkins’ debut adult novel.

QUICK INTERVIEW
What part of the book did you have the hardest time writing?
“Solidifying the lore behind The Death Witch and the prophecy. I wanted to come up with something unique and I went back and forth with a few different ideas.”
What part of the book was the most fun to write?
“The scenes with Devlin and Ella! They are just the cutest.”
What inspired the idea for your book?
“My love for all things supernatural and my not-so-secret love for some juicy werewolf romance.”
How did you come up with the title for your book?
“I really wanted to come up with a unique title meaning death and it took me a few hours of research to find the perfect word.”
Would you and your main character get along?
“Wow, I haven’t thought about this. I hope we would be great friends because Devlin is a badass and I’d love for her to have my back.”
How long did it take you to write this book?
“Roughly 6 months”
If you’re planning a sequel, can you share a tiny bit about your plans for it?
“The working title is currently Umbra and the second book will follow Devlin as she fights the growing power inside her. Cayden’s past will also be fleshed out more, and Nova will get more “screen time” in this book (i.e. her relationship with the vampire *wink wink*).”
How would you describe your book’s ideal reader?
“Someone who loves witches, werewolves, vampires; descriptive imagery; slow burn romance; and real, complex characters.”
BOOK REVIEW
D.J Hawkins is a new author to me and I would recommend her work to others out there. She did an amazing job with the first installment in The Death Witch Trilogy. I was hooked from the first page.
Quietus is full of action and emotions. It is a well-written, easy-to-read, and page-turner story.
Devlin has returned to the place that always felt like home. After years of being a prisoner of people that wants to take her power. She will do anything to hide from them. So much has changed since the last time she was in Silverwood. She is a witch with death and darkness part of her.
Cayden is next in line to become the Alpha of his pack. He didn’t feel comfortable around Devlin the first time he met her but realized that she is not the same as the other witches. Cayden will do anything to keep Devlin and his pack safe from any harm.
Both Devlin and Cayden have to make difficult decisions. The decisions that can change not only their lives forever, but also those around them.
I am honored to be part of the whole process and journey of The Death Witch Trilogy. I want to thank D.J. Hawkins for trusting me with an early copy of Quietus. It was worth every second.
A MUST READ for Paranormal Romance lovers.
